Ridicules flowers bought at the weekend? (9)
I believe the answer is:
satirises
'ridicules' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'flowers bought at the weekend?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'flowers' could be 'irises' (type of flower) and 'irises' is found in the answer.
'at' is within the answer.
A single letter 's' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
(Other definitions for satirises that I've seen before include "Sends up" , "Makes exaggerated attacks" , "Ridicules" , "Makes fun of" .)
