Crossword Genius

Road junction a bit after Bury? (12)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

intersection

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'road junction' is the definition.
(I know that intersection is a type of road junction)

'a bit after bury?' is the wordplay.
'a bit' becomes 'section' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should believe this answer much more).
'after' says to put letters next to each other.
'bury?' becomes 'inter' (to inter is to put into the ground).
'section' after 'inter' is 'INTERSECTION'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for intersection that I've seen before include "Where two lines cross" , "Motorway junction" , "Crossing point" , "Crossing - junction" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Independent.
