Run following improper kiss somewhere in the Alps? (3,5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

ski slope

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'run' is the definition.
(I have seen 'smooth run' mean 'ski slope' so perhaps 'run' could also mean 'ski slope')

'improper kiss somewhere in the alps?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
an anagram of 'kiss' is 'skis' which is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'lope' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'following' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for ski slope that I've seen before include "smooth run" , "Piste" , "downhill" , "sports venue" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
