Rust perhaps seen in plant? (6)
I believe the answer is:
carrot
'plant?' is the definition.
(carrot is a kind of plant)
'rust perhaps' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'rust' could be 'rot' and 'rot' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'car' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'seen in' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for carrot that I've seen before include "Root vegetable" , "orangey colour" , "The vegetable for persuasion" , "Red vegetable used as inducement" , "Vegetable - incentive" .)
