Ross

I believe the answer is:

hop it

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'a wallaby?' is the definition.
I know nothing about this answer so I cannot tell whether this works.

'said to dismiss' is the wordplay.
'said' becomes 't' (I've seen this in other clues).
'to' says to put letters next to each other (I've seen this in other clues).
'dismiss' becomes 'hopi' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
't' put after 'hopi' is 'HOP IT'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for hop it that I've seen before include "Run along now!" , "split" , "Leave" , "Scram!" , "Scarper, be gone" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
