Satisfaction expressed about a timber supplier (3)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

oak

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'a timber supplier' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how they can define each other.

'satisfaction expressed about' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'about' could be 'a' (abbreviation in Chambers) and 'a' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ok' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for oak that I've seen before include "Building timber" , "The mighty tree" , "Deciduous forest tree" , "Tree of the genus Quercus" , "Strong hardwood" .)

I've seen this clue in The Globe and Mail.
