Satisfied about article being signified (5)
I believe the answer is:
meant
'being signified' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'satisfied about article' is the wordplay.
'satisfied' becomes 'met' (as in 'met the conditions of his contract').
'about' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'article' becomes 'an' (indefinite article).
'met' placed around 'an' is 'MEANT'.
(Other definitions for meant that I've seen before include "Deliberate" , "Had as intention or purpose" , "no accident" , "Implied" , "proposed" .)
