Ross

I believe the answer is:

flannel

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This might be a double definition.

'say how marvellous you are' is the first definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't understand how they can define each other.

'stuff' is the second definition.
The answer and definition can be both man-made objects as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe you can see a link between them that I can't see?

'and' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for flannel that I've seen before include "type of fabric" , "Bathroom item" , "Cloth; evasive talk" , "nonsense" , "cooler if wet?" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
