Scent that completes one's toilet? (8)
I believe the answer is:
lavender
'scent' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'completes one's toilet?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'toilet?' could be 'lav' (lavatory) and 'lav' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ender' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'that' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lavender that I've seen before include "Plant prized for its scent" , "Pale lilac" , "Shrub with fragrant purple flowers, used to scent linen" , "Delicate perfume from shrub with purple leaves" , "Fragrant shrub (taking water?)" .)
