Seafood — with shelled clam, tongues wag (9)
I believe the answer is:
langouste
'seafood' is the definition.
(langouste is a kind of seafood)
'shelled clam tongues wag' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
an anagram of 'tongues' is 'ngouste' which is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'la' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'with' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for langouste that I've seen before include "Sea creature" , "Seafood is possibly" , "Swimmer" , "It may be eaten roasted" , "One in the sea" .)
