Seasonal cake you will make a note of, they say (4,3)
![Ross](/clue/static/ross-mug.min.png)
I believe the answer is:
yule log
'seasonal cake' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'you will make a note of they say' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'you' could be 'u' (commonly used in online communication) and 'u' is found within the answer.
'note' could be 'log' and 'log' is located in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for yule log that I've seen before include "Symbolic item of Christmas season" , "Chunk of wood for the Christmas fire" , "Xmas chocolate cake" , "Something eaten (or burned?) at Christmas" , "It burns at Christmas" .)
