Sections among rowers finding old coins (6,2,5)
I believe the answer is:
pieces of eight
'old coins' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'sections among rowers' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'rowers' could be 'eight' (eight can mean a crew of eight rowers) and 'eight' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'finding' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for pieces of eight that I've seen before include "Old coins; '---!' (Long John Silver's parrot)" , "2 and 6 perhaps" , "In old money" , "Old Spanish coins (sought by pirates)" , "Old Spanish silver coins" .)
