See fool strip in the restaurant (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

noodle

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'see fool strip' is the definition.
'noodle' can be an answer for 'strip' (I have seen 'Strip of pasta' mean 'noodle' so perhaps 'strip' could also mean 'noodle'). I'm unsure of the 'see fool' bit.

I can't explain the rest of the clue.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for noodle that I've seen before include "Head - simpleton - found in soup" , "Form of pasta" , "Piece of pasta for foolish person?" , "Slangy head or piece of pasta" , "Narrow strip of pasta, or foolish person" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
