I believe the answer is:

appoint

(I've seen this in another clue)

'a quiet spot' is the wordplay.
'quiet' becomes 'p' (music symbol for 'piano', ie soft or quiet).
'spot' becomes 'point' (synonyms).
'a'+'p'+'point'='APPOINT'
