Crossword Genius

Sending out terminations (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

endings

'terminations' is the definition.
(I know this)

'sending out' is the wordplay.
'out' indicates anagramming the letters (out can mean wrong or inaccurate).
'sending' with letters rearranged gives 'ENDINGS'.

(Other definitions for endings that I've seen before include "Denouements" , "Closings, terminations" , "Closings, conclusions" , "Finishes" , "Suffixes" .)

I've seen this clue in The Globe and Mail and The Telegraph.
