I believe the answer is:

numeric

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'senseless' is the definition.
Both the answer and definition are adjectives. Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'not to finish chap figured?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'chap' could be 'eric' and 'eric' is found in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for numeric that I've seen before include "Consisting of numbers" , "Employing figures" , "Expressed using digits" , "Expressed in numbers" , "Using figures" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
