Sent overseas- and indeed left (8)
I believe the answer is:
deported
'sent overseas' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'indeed left' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'left' could be 'port' (left side of a ship - opposite of starboard) and 'port' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'deed' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'and' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for deported that I've seen before include "Expelled from a country" , "sent overseas" , "despatched overseas" .)
