Short and long notes starting Liszt piece (6)
I believe the answer is:
morsel
'piece' is the definition.
(I have seen 'Small piece' mean 'morsel' so perhaps 'piece' could also mean 'morsel')
'short and long' is the wordplay.
'short and' becomes 'morse' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should believe this answer much more).
'long' becomes 'l'.
'morse'+'l'='MORSEL'
'notes starting liszt' is the link.
I am not very happy about this link. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for morsel that I've seen before include "Bite to eat" , "Titbit" , "A scrap or shred of food" , "A tiny bit" , "(Tasty) bit" .)
