Showing love for a musical drama (5)
I believe the answer is:
opera
'musical drama' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'showing love for a' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'love' could be 'o' (love means zero in tennis) and 'o' is present in the answer.
'a' could be 'per' (eg 'one a day' means 'one per day') and 'per' is found in the answer.
A single letter 'a' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for opera that I've seen before include "eg Otello" , "Musical play" , "Drama with singing" , "Met show?" , "Carmen, for instance" .)
