Shown too much light or given too much air? (11)
I believe the answer is:
overexposed
'shown too much light' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both to do with perception as well as being past participle verbs.
Perhaps there's an association between them I don't understand?
'given too much air?' is the wordplay.
'given' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'too much' becomes 'over' (over can mean to too great an extent).
'air?' becomes 'exposed' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should believe this answer much more).
'over' put next to 'exposed' is 'OVEREXPOSED'.
'or' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for overexposed that I've seen before include "What Northern Rock was" , "Given too much publicity" , "Too visible" .)
