Crossword Genius

Shows the way with good Scottish directions (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

guides

'shows the way' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'with good scottish directions' is the wordplay.
'with' says to put letters next to each other.
'good scottish' becomes 'guid' (Scottish version of 'good').
'directions' becomes 'Es' (east and south - two directions).
'guid' put next to 'es' is 'GUIDES'.

(Other definitions for guides that I've seen before include "Persons leading mountaineers etc" , "Directs or steers" , "Leads or conducts" , "Shows the way" , "They show others the way - may be girls" .)
