Single reed blown in the wind (8)
I believe the answer is:
clarinet
'single reed' is the definition.
'blown in the wind' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'in' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'claret' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for clarinet that I've seen before include "Musical wind instrument as played by Benny Goodman" , "It's for playing" , "23 instrument" , "Source of music" , "musician" .)
