Crossword Genius

Slope, white and cordial in fine weather (3,3)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

ski run

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This could be a double definition.

'slope white' is the first definition.
The definition and answer can be both man-made objects as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe you can see an association between them that I can't see?

'cordial in fine weather' is the second definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't see how one could define the other.

'and' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for ski run that I've seen before include "Winter sports slope" , "Snow-covered slope" , "Recreational snow slope" , "Downhill course in winter" , "cold course" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
