Slow movement of ringleader in gaolbreak (5)
I believe the answer is:
largo
'slow movement' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'of ringleader in gaolbreak' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'of' could be 'o' and 'o' is found in the answer.
'ringleader' could be 'r' (first letter of ring) and 'r' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'lag' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for largo that I've seen before include "Key -, Humphrey Bogart film" , "Slow and dignified tempo in music" , "Handel's piece?" , "To be played slowly and broadly" , "at stately speed" .)
