Smack, when you find (3,5,2)
I believe the answer is:
lay hands on
'find' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'smack when you' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'smack' could be 'h' (synonyms) and 'h' is present in the answer.
'when' could be 'on' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'on' is found within the answer.
'you' could be 'ya' (non-standard spelling as in 'see ya later') and 'ya' is present in the leftover letters.
The remaining letters 'lands' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lay hands on that I've seen before include "attack" , "Move to confirm" , "Find" , "how one may heal by faith?" .)
