Crossword Genius

Snake gets game cubes with a queen of old Britain (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

boadicea

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'queen of old britain' is the definition.
'boadicea' can be an answer for 'queen' (I've seen this before). I'm not sure about the 'of old britain' bit.

'snake gets game cubes with a' is the wordplay.
'snake' becomes 'boa' (boa constrictor, type of snake).
'gets' says to put letters next to each other.
'game cubes' becomes 'dice' (I've seen this in another clue).
'with' says to put letters next to each other.
'boa'+'dice'+'a'='BOADICEA'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for boadicea that I've seen before include "Queen of the Iceni" , "two point five four centimetres" , "Ancient British queen" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
