I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'greasy spoons' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'snide drunk hangs around right' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'right' could be 'r' (common abbreviation) and 'r' is located in the answer.
an anagram of 'snide' is 'dines' which is located in the left over letters.
This accounts for all the letters.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for diners that I've seen before include "Eaters of a meal" , "Restaurants" .)

I've seen this clue in The Mirror.
