Soaked an unreasonable journalist (7)
I believe the answer is:
steeped
'soaked' is the definition.
(steeping is a kind of soaking)
'an unreasonable journalist' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'journalist' could be 'ed' (short for editor) and 'ed' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'steep' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for steeped that I've seen before include "Soaked in liquid" , "Soaked in water" , "wet" , "Saturated or let sit in a liquid" .)
