Crossword Genius

Socialist Party in summer time uprising (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

guevara

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'socialist' is the definition.
Both the definition and answer are singular nouns.
Perhaps you can see a link between them that I can't see?

'party in summer time uprising' is the wordplay.
'party' becomes 'rave' (type of dance party).
'in' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'summer time' becomes 'aug' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should believe this answer much more).
'uprising' says the letters should be written backwards.
'rave' inserted within 'aug' is 'araveug'.
'araveug' back-to-front is 'GUEVARA'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for guevara that I've seen before include "Che -, twentieth century revolutionary" , "Che --, noted revolutionary" , "Latin politico" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
