Song that’s “Jaggery”? (5,5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

brown sugar

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'song' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't understand how they can define each other.

'that's jaggery?' is the wordplay.
'that' becomes 'brown' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'jaggery?' becomes 'sugar' (jaggery is a kind of sugar).
'brown'+'sugar'='BROWN SUGAR'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for brown sugar that I've seen before include "Demerara or muscovado, for example" , "Kind of sweetener" , "Eg, demerara" , "Sweet thing" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
