'atmosphere in a literary sense' is the definition.
'miasma' can be an answer for 'atmosphere' (miasma is a kind of atmosphere). I am not certain of the 'in a literary sense' bit.

'sounds like my respiratory problem leads to a bad' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'like' could be 'as' and 'as' is located in the answer.
'a' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'mim' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
