Crossword Genius

Spooky chat with Connery, Charlie and Elizabeth (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

seance

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'spooky chat' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't see how one could define the other.

'connery charlie and elizabeth' is the wordplay.
'connery' becomes 'sean' (I've seen this in another clue).
'charlie' becomes 'C' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.).
'and' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'elizabeth' becomes 'e' (this could be a standard abbreviation of which I'm unaware).
'sean'+'c'+'e'='SEANCE'

'with' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for seance that I've seen before include "Dead-contacting session" , "Sitting - can see (anag)" , "Psychic gathering" , "Encase (anag)" , "spiritual guidance" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
