Ross

I believe the answer is:

lawsuit

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'suing someone' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how one could define the other.

'spooner saw money could be' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
an anagram of 'saw' is 'aws' which is within the answer.
'money' could be 'l' (L can mean 'pounds') and 'l' is found in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'made from' is the link.

(Other definitions for lawsuit that I've seen before include "Legal dispute" , "Court case" , "Legal proceedings" , "Process of bringing dispute or claim before the courts" , "Claim brought to court" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
