Ross

I believe the answer is:

morse code

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This might be a double definition.

'spooner's' is the first definition.
Both the answer and definition are singular nouns.
Perhaps there's a link between them I don't understand?

'rough fashion' is the second definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot see how one could define the other.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for morse code that I've seen before include "A way to signal" , "Dots and dashes alphabet" , "Means to communicate" , "Way of sending message" , "Means of signalling by dots and dashes" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
