Crossword Genius

Star of French feature of 'Cyrano'? (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

deneb

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'star' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'of french feature of 'cyrano'?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'of french' could be 'de' and 'de' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'neb' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for deneb that I've seen before include "Be Ned (anag) - brightest star in Cygnus" , "First magnitude star in Cygnus" , "Bright star in Cygnus" , "Bright star; be end (anag.)" , "The star Alpha Cygni" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
