Crossword Genius

Star-studded kind of way (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

milky

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'star-studded' is the definition.
Both the definition and answer are adjectives.
Maybe you can see an association between them that I don't see?

'kind of way' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'kind' could be 'ilk' (ilk can mean a type or kind) and 'ilk' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'my' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for milky that I've seen before include "Lactic" , "Lacteal; cloudy" , "Of a soft white colour" , "White, opaque" , "Clouded" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Independent.
