Statement of one needing doctor? Job description’s the opposite (9)

I believe the answer is:
impatient
'opposite' is the definition.
Both the definition and answer are adjectives. Maybe there's a link between them I don't understand?
'statement of one needing doctor? job description's' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'one' could be 'i' (Roman numeral) and 'i' is found in the answer.
'job description' could be 'patient' (the biblical figure Job was very patient) and 'patient' is found within the answer.
A single letter 'm' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'the' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for impatient that I've seen before include "Restless; intolerant" , "Restless or short of temper" , "Over-eager" , "Irritable" , "Restless or short-tempered" .)
