Crossword Genius

Steal country's fine ware (4,5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

bone china

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'fine ware' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both man-made objects as well as being singular nouns.
Perhaps you can see a link between them that I don't see?

'steal country's' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'country' could be 'china' (China is an example) and 'china' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'bone' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for bone china that I've seen before include "Fine things perhaps thrown" , "Material from Potter" , "eating off this?" , "Type of fine porcelain" , "High quality porcelain" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
