Crossword Genius

Stick one's nose into (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

intrude

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'stick' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both to do with communicating as well as being verbs in their base form.
Maybe you can see a link between them that I can't see?

'one's nose into' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'into' could be 'in' and 'in' is present in the answer.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for intrude that I've seen before include "Come in when not wanted" , "Poke one's nose in" , "Push in where not wanted" , "Break in" , "Pry" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
