Crossword Genius

Still not odd then (4,2)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

even so

'still' is the definition.
('even so' can be a synonym of 'still')

'not odd then' is the wordplay.
'not odd' becomes 'even' ('even' is the opposite to 'odd').
'then' becomes 'so' (both can mean 'therefore' or 'in that case').
'even'+'so'='EVEN SO'

(Other definitions for even so that I've seen before include "'Nonetheless (4,2)'" , "Notwithstanding" , "Despite that, nevertheless" , "'Despite, still (4,2)'" , "'Nevertheless (4,2)'" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
