Streaking - perhaps cock's broadcast during golf (7)
I believe the answer is:
veining
'streaking' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both to do with creating things as well as being present participle verbs.
Perhaps you can see an association between them that I can't see?
'cock's broadcast during golf' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'during' could be 'in' (e.g. during February means in February) and 'in' is found within the answer.
'golf' could be 'g' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.) and 'g' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'vein' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'perhaps' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Another definition for veining that I've seen is " streaks of colour".)
