Stuck copper has to go back for cover (7)
I believe the answer is:
trapped
'stuck' is the definition.
(stuck can mean trapped in one place)
'copper has to go back for cover' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'copper' could be 'p' and 'p' is located in the answer.
'go' could be 'rap' (rapping is a kind of going) and 'rap' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ted' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for trapped that I've seen before include "Ensnared, cornered" , "Snared" , "Stuck" , "Caught" , "in a tight corner" .)
