I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'an arrangement' is the definition.
(thesaurus)

'study birtwistle's latest duet' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
an anagram of 'duet' is 'etud' which is within the answer.
A single letter 'e' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'in' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for etude that I've seen before include "A short musical exercise" , "(Musical) study" , "Short composition for a solo instrument" , "short musical piece" , "Indian statesman" .)
