Subordinate to service drawers? (9)
I believe the answer is:
underwear
'drawers?' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'subordinate to service' is the wordplay.
'subordinate to' becomes 'under' (I've seen this in another clue).
'service' becomes 'wear' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'under'+'wear'='UNDERWEAR'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for underwear that I've seen before include "Garments worn next to the skin" , "shift, perhaps" , "Endure war about smalls" , "Smalls or scanties, collectively" , "Vests, knickers etc" .)
