Sudden work-stop during a storm? (9,6)
I believe the answer is:
lightning strike
'a storm?' is the definition.
I know nothing about this answer so I cannot judge whether it can be defined by this definition.
'sudden work-stop during' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'work' could be 'strike' (striking is a kind of working) and 'strike' is located in the answer.
'during' could be 'in' (e.g. during February means in February) and 'in' is located in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lightning strike that I've seen before include "not supposed to be repeated in one place" , "Rare event" , "Type of industrial action" , "that a place only witnesses once?" , "Spontaneous coming out" .)
