Superior location of the fringe of Surrey (2,3)
I believe the answer is:
on top
'superior' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'location of the fringe of surrey' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'location' could be 'top' (top is a kind of location) and 'top' is present in the answer.
'of' could be 'o' and 'o' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'n' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for on top that I've seen before include "Leading" , "At the summit or in superior position" , "Winning" , "In a dominant position" .)
