I believe the answer is:

autumn

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'supernaturalism' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot see how one could define the other.

I don't understand how the remainder of the clue works.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for autumn that I've seen before include "Time of year" , "1 Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" , "Browning happened then" , "American call it the fall" , "Fall in the US" .)

I've seen this clue in the Irish Times (Crosaire) and the Irish Times.
