Supervise the bishop's position (7)
I believe the answer is:
oversee
'supervise' is the definition.
(I know that supervise can be written as oversee)
'bishop's position' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'position' could be 'over' (I have seen 'superior position' mean 'over' so perhaps 'position' could also mean 'over') and 'over' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'see' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'the' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for oversee that I've seen before include "Be responsible for" , "Watch people toil" , "Superintend, manage" , "Administer" , "Exercise supervision" .)
