Supported while one lived with (6)
I believe the answer is:
stayed
'supported' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'while one lived with' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'one' could be 'a' (a thing is one thing) and 'a' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'styed' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for stayed that I've seen before include "Supported" , "Remained; steadied" , "Remained; guyed" , "Didn't go" , "Remained, propped up" .)
