Supports putting restrictions on large navy (5)
I believe the answer is:
fleet
'navy' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'supports putting restrictions on large' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'large' could be 'l' (eg in clothes sizes) and 'l' is present in the answer.
'supports' could be 'feet' (foot is a kind of support) and 'feet' is found in the remaining letters.
No letters remain.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for fleet that I've seen before include "Squadron" , "Swift like navy" , "Marine force" , "Fast - group of boats" , "group of taxis, for example" .)
